I can only find the Web Jet admin software and it seems different. If your department has restricted printing on the device, you will not be able to successfully print without a valid printing code saved here. I think the software was called HP Jet admin but I can't find a version that installs on XP. If you have been given a printing code by your departmental manager, click the checkbox for enable user code and enter the code as shown. I remember in the old days HP had a software that would allow you to configure a printer using the MAC address. I tried exploring the settings on my router (using the web interface) but there isn't an option to hardcode the IP address to the MAC address.Īnd I checked Windows XP software and I only find that I can set up the printer using a TCP/IP port. Is there a way to set up the printer to use the mac address of the printer server or hardcode an IP address to the printer server's MAC address ? However, every time there is a power outage or I need to re-boot the printer server, the IP address for my printer changes and I need to re-configure all the printers with the new IP address. The printer server is assigned an IP address from my router and I set up the printer on my computers using the IP address. I have an older lexmark print server that uses a parallel cable and I set up my printer on this print server.
